Vaporesso XROS 5 Mini research-based review

A research-based look at the Vaporesso XROS 5 Mini, a small refillable pod device with a 1500 mAh battery, 2 ml UK pods and simple auto-draw operation.

Product:
XROS 5 Mini
Brand:
Vaporesso

This assessment is based on published product information and the sources listed below. We have not tested this product hands-on.

Key takeaways

  • The UK-relevant XROS 5 Mini uses 2 ml TPD pods, not the larger pods listed for some other markets.
  • It is auto-draw only, with airflow adjustment but no screen or wattage menu.
  • Vaporesso lists a 1500 mAh battery and 2 A USB-C charging.
  • XROS pod compatibility is the main practical advantage for existing users of the platform.
  • Flavour, pod life and real battery endurance are not measured here.

This is a research-based product overview, not a hands-on review. We have not tested this product; the assessment below is based on the cited specifications and published evidence.

What it is

The Vaporesso XROS 5 Mini is a compact refillable pod device aimed at mouth-to-lung users who want a simple draw-activated kit rather than a screen, fire button or manual wattage controls. It is not a single-use vape: the battery is rechargeable and the pod is replaceable and refillable.

On Vaporesso’s official XROS 5 Mini page, the manufacturer lists a 1500 mAh built-in battery, USB-C charging at 2 A, adjustable airflow and compatibility with the XROS pod range. The listed dimensions are 110.5 mm by 24.2 mm by 14.1 mm. Vaporesso lists two weights by finish: 65.2 g for the SMT process version and 50.2 g for the aluminium version.

UK version and pods

The UK-relevant point is capacity. Vaporesso lists 3 ml pods for some markets and 2 ml TPD and CRC versions. For UK adult buyers, the relevant pod capacity is 2 ml. The official page lists compatible XROS pod resistances of 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2 ohm, while the TPD kit listing shows a 0.6 ohm mesh pod pre-installed.

That compatibility is useful if you already use XROS pods. A higher-resistance pod is usually the more natural fit for a tighter, cigarette-like draw with 50/50 e-liquid or nicotine salts, while lower-resistance options can be airier and use more liquid. The device itself does not give the fine control of a pod mod, so the pod choice and airflow slider do most of the work.

Independent evidence and limits

Planet of the Vapes separately reviewed the XROS 5 and XROS 5 Mini in May 2025. Its reviewer described the Mini as auto-draw only, with airflow adjustment and an LED battery indicator, and noted that older and newer XROS pods fit across the range. That is independent user experience, but it is still one review, not laboratory evidence.

We are not claiming measured flavour, coil life, leak resistance, battery endurance or long-term reliability. Vaporesso’s COREX 3.0 flavour and stability claims are manufacturer claims unless supported by independent measurement. The safest reading is that this is a simple, current XROS battery with a larger cell than many older slim pods, not a guaranteed performance upgrade for every user.

Who it may suit

The XROS 5 Mini makes most sense for adult smokers or vapers who want a pocketable refillable pod with few settings, broad pod availability and a battery size that is generous for this class. It is less suitable if you want a screen, button firing, precise wattage adjustment or a very small ultra-light device.

UK health context matters. NHS guidance says nicotine vaping is less harmful than smoking but not harmless, and that children and non-smokers should never vape. Charging also deserves attention: London Fire Brigade advises not leaving vapes charging unattended or overnight.

Assessment

A credible simple refillable pod option for adult UK smokers or vapers who want XROS pod compatibility and minimal controls, provided they are comfortable with a 2 ml UK pod and do not need screen-based adjustment.
